About the event

Join the discussion on a free course offered by the American Massage Therapy Association on how you can protect yourself from legal malpractice action. Even the best massage therapists make mistakes or are perceived by a client as having caused injury through their professional services. This course includes actions you should take if you suspect you’ll be sued — or if it comes to pass that you are actually sued.

This course has language specific to the AMTA liability insurance offered to members. If you're not an AMTA member, you should verify this information with your provider. Learn more about becoming an AMTA member.

Note: The information contained in this course is intended to provide a general overview of actions to take in the event of a malpractice lawsuit.

This course is facilitated by Sarah Haar and Erin Hewitt.  The author is Jennifer Flynn is Manager for Aon/Affinity Insurance Services, Inc., Healthcare Division, specializing in risk management. Having worked in the healthcare insurance business for over 10 years, she is dedicated to educating healthcare professionals on professional liability risks and offers strategies to mitigate those risks. She has presented at professional organization meetings on healthcare risk management and other insurance related topics. This facilitators will not be able to give you any advice on matters containing to malpractice within your business.  You will need to contact HPSCO directly.  The facilitators of this study group are not the authors of this course and are simply facilitating a discussion on the course content.  They are not experts in the field.
