Expanding Knowledge and Opportunities in Non-Opioid Care

Collaboration for a Healthier Minnesota

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting evidence-based, compassionate care, the AMTA Minnesota Chapter is proud to highlight two important collaborative initiatives.
Together, these programs advance the role of massage therapy in addressing pain management and substance use with professionalism and empathy.

  • Northwestern Health Sciences University’s free training module helps massage therapists identify and address opioid and substance use disorder in practice through the SBIRT model.

  • The No Pain Project, led by Hennepin Healthcare (HCMC), connects patients and healthcare providers with trusted, non-opioid pain management options—inviting massage therapists to be part of this statewide resource.

Join the No Pain Project – A Partnership with HCMC

A statewide initiative advancing non-opioid care.

We are pleased to introduce The No Pain Project, spearheaded by Hennepin Healthcare (HCMC) — a collaborative resource connecting patients and providers with evidence-based, non-opioid, and non-pharmacological pain treatment options.

HCMC is currently seeking licensed massage therapists to feature on its website as a trusted resource for patients and healthcare professionals exploring non-opioid pain care.

How It Works:
The No Pain Project website is a comprehensive tool for anyone seeking effective pain management without the use of opioids.

- Medical providers can use the site to identify qualified providers and explore patient care information.

- Patients can find providers, learn self-management techniques, and discover treatment options to discuss with their healthcare teams.
